Congratulations to the winners of the Keep Victoria Beautiful Sustainable Cities Awards

MWRRG would like to congratulate all winners, finalists and participants in the Keep Victoria Beautiful Sustainable Cities Awards, especially those who have been recognised for their waste and resource recovery initiatives.

We would particularly like to congratulate the City of Greater Dandenong, for winning the Overall Sustainable Council category, with a focus on resource recovery and waste management, litter prevention and environmental sustainability. The City of Greater Dandenong also won the Resource Recovery and Waste Management category for ‘Pop Up Drive Thru’ Recycling Days and was the winner of the Litter Prevention category for the #msnobutts campaign (a Litter Hotspots project).

Other groups to take out awards included:

  • The Port Phillip EcoCentre, winner of the Clean Beach/Waterways category for A Little Bit of Litter: Baykeeper ‘Street to Sea’ Litter Audit Network (a Litter Hotspots project)
  • Greater Shepparton City Council, a finalist in the Resource Recovery and Waste Management category for its implementation of our Back to Earth Initiative.
