New trucks educating community about waste in Boroondara
Out and about in the community every week, waste collection trucks provide valuable mobile channels for community education.
Taking full advantage of this opportunity, the City of Boroondara has rolled out nine new, eye-catching designs as part of its regular collection truck fleet renewal.
No two trucks are the same. Each feature one clear message and one call to action. The messages and images align with council and state government priorities. Themes include hard waste, recycling and buying recycled products, waste avoidance, composting and e-waste recycling.
Boroondara’s vibrant corporate colour palette (red, purple and orange) are combined with images of people implementing the calls to action to create highly visible and engaging designs that the community can relate to.
As well as visual appeal, the new trucks are Australian made and exceed the Australian Industry Standard for waste collection vehicles.
